Just started investing at 40yr old, wish I’d done. It 20 years ago. Has anyone else started at 40 with small amounts of money . I’m hoping to retire at 75. I’m a joiner and worried i won’t have enough to retire . Any advice would be great and helpul. I earn £2400 a month
40 isn’t too old to start investing - infact, you’re never too old to start. The earlier you begin the better, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worthwhile. You’ve got 35 years of investments left for your retirement, which can mount up quickly.
It might be worthwhile working how much income you’ll have left over after all of your expenses. Once you’ve worked out that - look to put as much of the remaining (that you can comfortably afford to) away as soon as you get paid.
